Joshua Duttweiler is a designer, artist, and educator whose multi-disciplinary practice spans personal, collaborative, and client-based projects. His work is deeply rooted in social justice and community building, critically exploring recorded histories, and constructed societal systems to amplify new voices. Joshua regularly exhibits his work both nationally and internationally.
Together with frequent collaborator Alexandria Canchola, Joshua has conducted extensive archival research on Chicano independent publications. They developed the En El Frente framework to disseminate their findings through conference presentations, journal articles, and a traveling exhibition.
Joshua and Alexandria also co-organize Riso-Rama, an annual symposium dedicated to learning from the risograph community of artists and makers.
Additionally, Joshua co-organizes Radius Collective, a group of multi-disciplinary artists and designers who come together each year to produce a conceptually driven exhibition.
Joshua holds a BFA in Applied Design and Visual Communication from Houghton University and an MFA in Graphic Design from Boston University. He currently resides in Texas where he is an Assistant Professor of Communication Design at Texas State University.
